Back in the day, before the revolution of digital presses, it was my good fortune to work for in several prepress departments and press rooms. From manual stripping of 4 color negatives to contact prints, I have experienced every task of traditional offset printing. Whether creating an outline drawing that would eventually become section tabs hammered out with precision by a die cutter or deglazing a 2-color Ryobi after spot gold, it helps to understand how printing works from the inside.
Today, I strive to build strong relationships with print vendors & partners who toil tirelessly for my clients. A difficult task: to create perfection, on time, on budget and a very competitive marketplace. Understanding their production capabilities can make all the difference. Over time my printing partners have come to expect project artwork to sail effortless through pre-flight, ready to send the press.
As you review the selected projects on the menu to the left, keep in mind these clients encompass a spectrum of print services from in-house production laser to 6-color Heidelbergs. These designs are tailored to the business models of each client with careful consideration of their budgets.
